This leads to blood congestion and small bulges, the familiar hair-thin, dark and reddish veins, which spread out in a net or fan shape under the surface of the skin. This is often accompanied by tired or heavy legs with an imprint of the sock cuffs in the evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"c9\"><span class=\"c7\">In this case, the exact extent of the venous insufficiency should be clarified by a phlebologist. Ultrasound measurements can be used to determine whether the veins under the spider veins have a normally functioning valve closure. If the valves, which prevent the blood from flowing back into the feet, are not working properly, real varicose veins can develop in this area over time. For this reason, it is important to get up every now and then and walk a few steps to keep the blood circulation going. Foot exercises are also a good option. A simple exercise is to pull your toes in and then stretch them out again. Then place your feet on tiptoe and lower them again.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"c7\">When the day's work is done, we recommend that you exercise. Sports such as swimming, jogging or cycling help to reduce spider veins.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c5\">Sitting correctly<\/span><\/h5>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c7\">It happens automatically when sitting: Without thinking, we cross our legs. What looks elegant is not good for the small blood vessels in the legs. Make sure you change your sitting position more often.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c5\">Put your legs up<\/span><\/h5>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c7\">To relieve the pressure on your veins, you should elevate your legs as often as possible. This works well during the night, for example, if you elevate your legs with a pillow.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c5\">Wear compression stockings<\/span><\/h5>\n<p class=\"c2\"><span class=\"c7\">The special stockings narrow the diameter of the leg veins and accelerate the return flow of blood to the heart. The venous valve system is supported in this way and further spider veins are prevented.
