Nose shapes that can have an unfavourable effect on facial aesthetics

• Broad nose
  It is too wide for the rest of the face, appears barrel-shaped and the nostrils are often not clearly visible. The tip of the nose with the bony area as well as the base of the nose and the cartilaginous part of the bridge of the nose can be affected.
• Hooked nose
  Their characteristics are a downward curved nose tip and a curved nose bridge.
• Snub nose
  The tip of the nose tilts upwards here. This makes the nose appear too short in some cases.
• Crooked nose

• Saddle nose

  With this nose shape, the bones and cartilage along the bridge of the nose are excessively pronounced, resulting in a hump. In some cases, the tip of the nose is curved downwards - similar to a hooked nose, but in a lighter form.

Surgical techniques for rhinoplasty in Frankfurt

Depending on the shape of the nose to be corrected and the extent of the deformity, we use a different surgical method: either the closed or the open technique.

With the closed technique, we correct your nose after making an incision in each nostril from the inside. Smaller corrections can be carried out easily using this technique. The open technique is more complex: we also need to make a small incision on the bridge of the nose to correct your nose. Once we have made the incision, we can detach your skin from the tip of your nose and fold it upwards for a clear view of the bony area.

Using these two techniques, we are able to reduce the bony bridge of the nose, remove humps or fill in indentations. With rhinoplasty, we can also narrow a broad nasal base and change the appearance and position of the tip of the nose. We are also able to straighten the nasal septum.
