Nose surgery Frankfurt: Our practice in Goethestraße

Our practice clinic is located in the beautiful Goethestraße - in the centre of the city, parallel to Neue Rothofstraße and Große Bockenheimer Straße ("Freßgass").

Your experienced rhinoplasty surgeon is Dr Thomas Fischerspecialist for ear, nose and throat medicine, plastic surgery and Functional plastic nose surgery.

He studied at the Goethe University in Frankfurtwhere he also completed his doctorate. He then worked as a junior doctor in the Ear, Nose and Throat and Facial Plastic Surgery Clinics at the Frankfurt am Main/Höchst Municipal Hospitals. There he was appointed senior physician and acting head of the clinic.

His professional career was also characterised by guest doctor residencies at the University of Illinois (USA), the Stanford University (USA) and the Lasky Clinic in Beverly Hills (USA).

Nose shapes that can damage your facial aesthetics

• The broad nose
  Due to their barrel-shaped form, the nostrils are often difficult to recognise. The tip of the nose, the bony base and/or the cartilaginous part of the bridge of the nose are usually affected. The nose appears too wide for the face.
• The hooked nose
  It has a curved or arched nasal bridge and a curved tip. These changes make the nose appear hook-shaped. The tip of the nose can even be pulled so far downwards that it forms the lowest point of the nose.
• The short nose
  This nose shape appears relatively short and the tip of the nose often tilts upwards.
• The crooked nose
  Here the nasal axis is uneven, tilted to the left or right. This causes the nose to deviate to the side. The cause is often a curvature of the Nasal septumwhich can also make breathing difficult.
• The saddle nose
  A visible indentation can occur if the bridge of the nose has too little cartilage and is too short. In profile, the nose looks like a saddle. Overall, it appears broad and plump. The tip of the nose can also protrude strongly.
• The bumpy nose
  Put simply, this nose shape has too much bone and cartilage along the bridge of the nose. This makes the nose look like a hump. As with the hooked nose, but in its lighter form, the tip of the nose can also be slightly curved downwards.

Surgical techniques for nose operations at our ENT clinic in Frankfurt

Depending on the malposition of your nose and how severe it is, we use a different surgical technique: We operate using either the open or the closed method.

With the closed technique, we optimise your nose by making an incision in each nostril. This method is best suited for minor corrections. However, it is not possible to change the tip of the nose.

With the open technique, we (additionally) make a small incision on the bridge of the nose. This allows us to loosen the skin at the tip of the nose and fold it back so that we can see the bony area clearly.

We can reduce the bridge of your nose or narrow a wide nasal root. We can change the position of the tip of your nose, raising or lowering it. We can also straighten a crooked nose by correcting your nasal septum.

We can also fill depressions on the bridge of the nose. In the case of a hump, we mobilise the bony bridge of the nose and push the side walls closer together. In this way, we achieve a natural and aesthetic nose shape.
