IPL laser treatment Frankfurt

IPL laser treatments for skin rejuvenation, skin aesthetics and permanent hair removal are based on intense pulses of light, which are less invasive than the light from lasers.

IPL laser treatments

Skin aesthetic problems such as age/pigment spots, couperose, spider veins, acne, rosacea or unwanted hair growth can be permanently removed with IPL. The computer-controlled IPL light hits the skin and is converted into heat energy. By selecting a suitable wavelength of light, the blood vessel, pigment or melanin is selectively heated and destroyed without damaging the surrounding tissue. With the skin's renewal cycle, the substance created during this process is shed.

IPL enables the treatment of all skin layers, both on the surface and in deeper regions. IPL does not cause any skin damage, the treatment works below the surface of the skin. You remain fully socially acceptable.

Skin rejuvenation

The problem is solved from the inside, i.e. the treatment is carried out under the surface of the skin and therefore does not cause any skin damage.

The intense pulsed light is channelled through the epidermis and the energy of the light is concentrated on the deeper layers of the skin. The result is a heat conversion process and deep stimulation. The targeted heating creates a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. At this temperature, the fibroblasts (connective tissue cells) are stimulated to produce more new collagen and elastin. This creates a network of collagen and elastin fibres that restores the skin's tension and elasticity. Wrinkles and enlarged pores are reduced and skin rejuvenation can be carried out on the entire face or just on individual areas of the face, as well as on the hands, décolleté and neck.

The treatment

In order to complete the treatment with the best possible results, between one and four sessions at intervals of around four weeks are necessary. A combination of high-quality, customised skin care with dermalogica and a gentle fruit acid peeling treatment is ideal.

After the treatment

To protect against UV radiation and pigment damage, avoid direct and unprotected exposure to the sun both before and after the procedure.

Latest device technology

In contrast to many devices that do not achieve the expected success, we work with a new technology that enables a relatively high energy input by splitting the light pulses into several so-called daughter pulses. The pulse length and pause times can also be precisely adjusted. This allows for more intensive treatment that is gentle on the skin and tissue. Depending on the respective indication, treatment is carried out at different wavelengths using a special treatment head. This is also very important in order to achieve the desired success.

Frequently asked questions about IPL laser treatment

Anyone who wants smooth and even skin and is considering IPL laser treatment has many questions. We have summarised the most common ones in this FAQ section. How can spider veins be removed by laser?

Spider veins are small dilated blood vessels that form in the uppermost layer of the skin - usually on the legs. There they appear as fine, reddish or bluish lines or branches. They are caused by a weakening of the vein walls or reduced blood flow. Risk factors for their development include genetic predisposition, hormonal changes, obesity, prolonged standing or sitting.

In contrast to varicose veins, which affect both the deeper and larger veins and can lead to health problems, spider veins are only superficial vascular changes. They do not usually cause any pain or health problems. For this reason, they are more of a cosmetic "blemish". Those affected often find them disturbing or unattractive.

There are various treatment options for spider veins, including IPL laser therapy, which we offer at our Goethe10 practice clinic in Frankfurt.

During IPL laser treatment, we deliver high-energy light pulses to your skin. This absorbs the red or blue pigments in the spider veins. The blood vessels are heated and damaged so that they gradually dissolve. Your body eventually breaks them down.

How can IPL laser treatment help with couperose?

Couperose is a skin condition in which persistent redness, fine veins (Teleangiectasias) and sometimes small red or purple vascular nodules also appear. This is caused by weakened and dilated blood vessels. The skin can also be sensitive and occasionally cause a feeling of warmth or slight pain. The cheeks, nose, chin and/or forehead are most commonly affected.

The exact cause of couperose is not fully understood. It is thought to be linked to genetic predisposition, skin sensitivity, sun exposure, hormonal changes and/or a malfunction of the blood vessels.

Although couperose is not usually a serious medical condition, sufferers often feel uncomfortable. Sun protection, avoiding triggers such as products containing alcohol or hot spices and appropriate skin care can help to alleviate the symptoms and prevent the condition from progressing.

In severe cases of couperose, an IPL laser treatment at our practice clinic in Frankfurt can help. This allows us to treat the visible veins and redness on your face in a targeted manner. By emitting high-energy light pulses onto your skin, we reduce the pathological dilation of the blood vessels. The colour pigments of the blood or blood vessels absorb the light pulses. This leads to selective heating of the affected blood vessels. As a result, they collapse and are gradually broken down by the body.

How do pigment spots respond to the IPL laser?

Pigment spots are areas of skin that appear darker than the surrounding skin. They are caused by excessive production of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour. There are various causes of pigment spots. These include: excessive sun exposure, hormonal changes (e.g. during pregnancy) or skin injuries. Pigment spots often appear as flat, brown or grey spots and can vary in size and shape.

Age spots, also known as lentigines seniles or lentigines solares, are a special type of pigment spots that occur more frequently with increasing age. They are mainly caused by long-term exposure to the sun. They therefore occur particularly frequently on parts of the body that are exposed to the sun (face, hands, shoulders and forearms). They appear as flat, brown spots of irregular shape and size.

Both pigmentation and age spots are generally harmless and do not require medical treatment. Nevertheless, they bother many people because they make the skin look uneven, impair the complexion and can even make you look older.

We can reduce your pigmentation and age spots with IPL laser treatment. The IPL laser emits high-energy light pulses that penetrate the skin. The darker pigments absorb the light. The light energy is converted into heat. This breaks down the excess pigmentation in a targeted manner.

What are the benefits of the IPL laser in acne treatment?

With Acne blackheads, pimples, papules and pustules appear, sometimes also deeper-lying inflamed lumps or sebaceous cysts. Acne is a common skin condition that occurs mainly during puberty, but sometimes also in adulthood. Acne is caused by a combination of excessive sebum production, blockage of the skin pores, inflammation and the growth of certain bacteria on the skin.

Acne usually occurs on the face, back, chest and shoulders. This is where most of the sebaceous glands are located.

In our practice clinic in Frankfurt, we can use the IPL laser for Acne treatment to treat acne. We specifically target several factors that contribute to the development of acne: The IPL laser can reduce excessive sebum production in the sebaceous glands. As a result, the pores become less clogged and fewer blackheads and pimples form. We can also use laser treatment to inhibit the activity of typical acne bacteria. At the same time, the therapy reduces inflammatory reactions in the skin, which can lead to redness, swelling and inflammatory lesions.

How does the IPL laser help with skin rejuvenation?

Over time, the skin can lose elasticity, firmness and radiance due to various factors such as the natural ageing process, sun exposure, environmental pollution, stress, poor nutrition and inadequate skin care.

Although we cannot turn back time as part of skin rejuvenation, we can minimise the visual effects of various influences. We can help you to achieve a younger, more radiant and healthier appearance.

In addition to methods such as wrinkle treatment with Botox or the Wrinkle injection with fillers we also offer other options for skin rejuvenation in our practice clinic in Frankfurt: the Peelingthat Medical microneedling and the Mesotherapy.

IPL laser treatment is particularly innovative. It can help with skin rejuvenation in various ways:

  • Collagen stimulation
The IPL laser emits high-energy light pulses that penetrate your skin and stimulate the production of collagen. Collagen is an important structural protein that is responsible for the elasticity and firmness of the skin. By stimulating collagen production, we can use the IPL laser to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, making your skin look firmer and younger.
  • Reduction of pigmentation spots
We can also reduce pigmentation spots, sun spots and age spots using IPL laser treatment. The darker pigments in the skin absorb the light energy from the laser, which leads to their destruction. This makes the spots lighter and your skin colour more even.
  • Improvement of the skin texture
As we remove the top layer of your skin during the treatment, your skin also becomes smoother, finer-pored and more even.

Permanent hair removal with IPL: How does the laser do it?

Human hair follows clear ideas and ideals of beauty: On the head, hair should be shiny, strong and voluminous. On other parts of the body, however, hair is less desirable. Women and men therefore invest a lot of time and money in hair removal methods such as waxing, shaving or epilating. For those who no longer wish to undergo these procedures, permanent laser hair removal offers a good alternative.

We use the IPL laser to generate heat in the hair roots. We adapt the laser energy to your skin type and individual condition. The heat generated cauterises the hair roots. Ideally, this prevents new hair from forming.

It is possible to remove unwanted hair from various areas of the body using IPL treatment. These areas include cheeks, chin, upper lip (especially the so-called lady's beard), bikini line, legs and armpits.

However, it is not possible to perform hair removal in the area around the eyes or below the eyebrows. The fontanel areas of the head are also taboo, as are areas of skin with tattoos or permanent make-up. Care should also be taken with moles and liver spots, as we are not allowed to treat them with the hair removal laser. The same applies to injured areas of skin.
