Peeling Frankfurt

From the age of 20, the skin begins to change in the sense of "wrinkles" and increased pigmentation due to external influences such as UV radiation, pollutants, etc., as well as the decreasing ability to store water.

Peeling

These changes become visible in the areas that are most exposed to these influences: Face and hands.

The aim of the treatment is to gently remove the increasingly keratinised, dry and hyperpigmented top layer of skin and stimulate the formation of new, smoother skin. To prevent damage to the subcutis, solutions are used that change colour before reaching a critical penetration depth.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic treatment method in which the upper layer of the skin is mechanically removed under vacuum in a controlled manner. This is a highly effective procedure to remove keratinisation, pigmentation and small wrinkles or scars from the skin. In the second step, depending on the condition of the skin, a highly effective serum or a special mask is applied.

  • The skin becomes finer-pored and pigmentation spots recede.
  • The firmness of the skin increases.
  • The depth of wrinkles is reduced.
  • Deep effects by activating the skin's own collagen and elastin production.
  • The skin's absorption of active ingredients is optimised.

The Acne treatment can be combined very well with fruit acid peelings. In combination with our high-quality products, this device is used for targeted and absolutely controlled removal of the horny layer, pigments and scars.

Pro Power Peel

With the new, highly effective power peeling from dermalogica, the skin experiences a completely new and customisable cell renewal. Customised to the respective target, the peeling system works highly efficiently against a wide range of skin problems, such as premature skin ageing, pigmentation spots, acne, scars or even hypersensitive skin. Includes an after-care kit for use at home.

Gentle fruit acid peeling

A gentle fruit acid peel is recommended if you need to remain "presentable" throughout. For this we recommend an intensive treatment of dermalogica with the EA26 peeling booster. The care products in the soothing treatment are precisely tailored to the skin's appearance and the problem (minimisation of wrinkles, acne, etc.).

Frequently asked questions about peeling in Frankfurt

Anyone who is dissatisfied with the appearance of their skin surface or skin quality and is considering a peeling treatment has many questions. We have summarised the most common ones in this FAQ section. Please note that this is general advice and information. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by telephone on 069 / 299 2466-0 or by e-mail.

What is a peeling and what is it used for?

A peel is a cosmetic treatment in which dead skin cells are removed from the surface of the skin. This promotes cell renewal, improves the skin's appearance and can help treat blemishes, pigmentation disorders and fine lines, for example.

Can you exfoliate at home or should it be done professionally?

You can use many peelings at home. These include mechanical or enzymatic peels (see below). However, for more intensive chemical peels or for specific skin problems, professional treatment - and above all a careful medical history and consultation - is recommended. In our Practice clinic in Frankfurt we are there for you and will inform you in detail about all peeling options.

What are mechanical peels?

This is the most common self-applied exfoliation method. It works with physical particles that remove dead skin cells from the skin surface through mechanical friction. Abrasion immediately makes the skin surface smoother and softer. In addition, the massaging effect during exfoliation can promote blood circulation to the skin and therefore a fresher appearance. Regular use can improve skin texture and make the complexion appear more even.

The particles can be made of different materials, e.g. microbeads made of plastic. However, the use of plastic particles is now restricted in many countries due to environmental concerns - keyword: microplastics! We therefore recommend scrubs with natural ingredients such as crushed nutshells, sea salt, sugar or coffee powder.

Caution: If you use mechanical exfoliators too often or incorrectly (e.g. by rubbing too hard), you can irritate your skin. Coarse-grained scrubs can also cause tiny cracks in the skin if too much pressure is applied, which can lead to long-term damage. People with sensitive skin or skin conditions such as rosacea should use mechanical exfoliators with caution or avoid them altogether.

How do enzymatic peels work?

Enzymatic peels utilise natural enzymes, which are often obtained from fruits such as papaya, pineapple or pumpkin. These break down the proteins in the dead skin cells and gently remove them from the skin's surface. This smoothes the skin's surface and refines its appearance.

Unlike mechanical or chemical peels, which rely on physical friction or chemical acids, enzymatic peels work in a less aggressive way. They are particularly suitable for people with sensitive skin or skin problems that react sensitively to abrasive or acidic products.

How do chemical peels work?

Chemical peels work by causing controlled, harmless damage to the skin (when applied professionally!). The chemical substances penetrate the skin and dissolve the bonds between the dead skin cells. This causes the outer skin layers to peel off and stimulates the skin to renew itself more quickly. Depending on the type and concentration of the peeling, this can lead to light to deep exfoliation. Chemical peels can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, brighten the complexion and make the skin smoother. They are also effective in treating acne scars, hyperpigmentation, melasma and uneven skin tone.

There are three main categories with different penetration depths:

Chemical peeling Frankfurt
  • Superficial peelings
Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) such as glycolic acid, lactic acid or fruit acids are used. They target the uppermost layer of skin (epidermis). Superficial peels are ideal for gentle exfoliation and can refine your skin texture, brighten the complexion and treat minor blemishes. There is usually no downtime. However, redness or slight peeling of the skin may occur.
  • Medium-depth peelings
They work with trichloroacetic acid (TCA) in a medium concentration. Medium-depth peels penetrate deeper into the skin layers and reach the upper dermis. They are perfect for treating wrinkles, pigmentation disorders and light scars. The recovery time can take a few days to a week. There will be visible, intentional peeling and possibly redness.
  • Deep peelings
This form of chemical peeling relies on highly concentrated trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or phenol. The active ingredients penetrate deep into the dermis and can treat more pronounced wrinkles and sun damage as well as more severe scars. Deep peels are associated with a longer downtime, which can last up to several weeks. The treatment requires more intensive aftercare.

How does microdermabrasion work?

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive cosmetic peel that we offer at our clinic in Frankfurt to improve the texture and appearance of your skin. The treatment gently removes dead skin cells, promotes cell renewal and can help treat skin problems such as fine lines, uneven pigmentation and acne scars.

Microdermabrasion Frankfurt

Microdermabrasion is carried out as follows:

  • We remove make-up, dirt and excess oil from your skin. For sensitive skin or special needs, we apply a mild peeling or other special pre-treatment.
  • For microdermabrasion, we use a special handheld device that either sprays fine crystals onto your skin or uses a diamond tip to gently remove the top layer of skin.
  • While the crystals or the diamond tip abrade your skin, a vacuum mechanism sucks away the skin cells and crystals.
  • After microdermabrasion, we cleanse your skin again to remove the last remaining crystals or dead skin cells.
  • We then soothe your skin with a relaxing mask. This is followed by a rich moisturising cream that nourishes your skin and strengthens the protective barrier.

How does the Pro Power Peel work?

Another peel that you can choose from at our practice clinic in Frankfurt is the Pro Power Peel from dermalogica. It is aimed at various skin problems. The Pro Power Peel consists of several concentrated peeling solutions that we can combine individually to meet the specific needs of your skin. To do this, we use the acids in different combinations and at different intensities depending on your requirements. This enables a customised treatment.

The acids it contains include alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) such as glycolic acid and lactic acid and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) such as salicylic acid. These acids work synergistically to gently but effectively exfoliate your skin. The Pro Power Peel effectively removes dead skin cells, promotes cell renewal and improves skin texture. It can also reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. With its deep cleansing and antibacterial properties, the peel also helps to treat acne and reduce the appearance of acne scars. Further benefits: The Pro Power Peel combats hyperpigmentation and gives your skin a more radiant, even complexion.

This is how the treatment works:

  • We thoroughly cleanse your skin before the peel. We prepare your skin for the treatment with a special pre-treatment gel.
  • We apply the Pro Power Peel in one or more layers, depending on the skin's needs and tolerance. We always customise the application time and the number of layers.
  • After exfoliation, we soothe and moisturise your skin.

What can the fruit acid peel do?

The third peel that you can benefit from at our clinic in Frankfurt is the gentle fruit acid peel from Dermalogica in combination with the EA26 peel booster.

This peel is based on alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and is known for its gentle but effective exfoliation. The treatment can help brighten the complexion, reduce the appearance of fine lines and improve overall skin texture.

The EA26 peeling booster is a special additional product that can intensify the effect of the fruit acid peeling. The combination with the booster increases the penetration of the fruit acids into the skin, which can produce even stronger effects. We use this booster for skin types or skin problems that require a more intensive treatment.

This is how the fruit acid peel works:

  • Before application, we cleanse your skin to ensure even exfoliation.
  • We then apply the peeling and - if necessary - add the peeling booster.
  • The application time varies depending on the skin type and the desired result. During application, we monitor your skin for possible reactions.
  • After the treatment, the peeling is neutralised and the skin is soothed. This is followed by a moisturising treatment.

Are there any risks or side effects with peelings?

As with any cosmetic treatment, there are potential risks associated with peels. The most common side effects include redness, dryness and skin irritation. Improper application, especially with chemical peels, can lead to burns or pigmentation disorders. It is therefore important to follow the instructions exactly or to have the treatment carried out by a professional. We are here for you at our practice clinic in Frankfurt!

When should you refrain from exfoliating?

You should refrain from exfoliating if your skin is acutely irritated or inflamed, if you have sunburn, open wounds or active acne.
