Pigment spots / age spots treatment
Unlike freckles, the black, brown or yellow spots are permanent.
Many people find these basically harmless spots cosmetically unpleasant, especially as they often settle in places where they cannot be easily concealed. Thanks to modern IPL technology, however, age and pigmentation spots can be removed easily and gently.
Treatment and follow-up time
During treatment, the age spots are exposed to high-energy short pulses of intense long-wave red light. This is absorbed by the melanin (dark colour pigment of the skin) and converted into heat. At a sufficiently high temperature, the pigment-rich cell structures are destroyed in a targeted manner. The surrounding tissue is neither heated nor burnt.
The treatment causes a slight crust to form, which falls off by itself after five to seven days. You should not remove these crusts before then. In addition, you should not expose yourself to the sun without sunblock for the first six weeks.
Depending on the intensity and age of the spots, up to three sessions may be necessary. However, this method of age spot removal is uncomplicated and does not restrict your normal activities in any way.
