Nose surgery can help with these nose shapes

Before we move on to our experiences with rhinoplasty, we would like to show you which nose shapes the surgical procedure can help with.

Broad nose

Due to their barrel shape, the nostrils are often not clearly visible. The tip of the nose, the bony part of the base and/or the cartilaginous part of the bridge of the nose are affected. It appears proportionally too wide for the face.

Hooked nose

The curved bridge and tip of the nose give this nose shape the appearance of a hook. The tip of the nose can even be tilted so far downwards that it forms the lowest point of the nose.

Short nose

As the name suggests, this nose shape appears relatively short. The tip of the nose is often tilted upwards.

Crooked nose

Its axis is uneven and tilts to the left or right. As a result, the nose has a laterally displaced, crooked shape. In many cases, the cause is a curvature of the nasal septum, which is accompanied by an obstruction to breathing.

Saddle nose

If the bridge of the nose has insufficient cartilage tissue and is too short, this can result in a visible depression. In profile, it resembles the shape of a saddle. Overall, it appears broad and plump. In addition, the tip of the nose is very prominent.

With this nose shape, the bones and cartilage along the bridge of the nose are excessively pronounced. This creates the impression of a hump. Similar to the hooked nose, but with a slight shape, the tip of the nose can also be slightly curved downwards.

Optimisation of the nose through remodelling by means of rhinoplasty

With the various nasal surgery options, we can improve the shape of your nose and/or adjust its size so that it matches the rest of your facial proportions. Basically, we differentiate between rhinoplasty, nasal tip correction and nasal septum correction. With the functional plastic rhinoplasty we remove excess cartilage and bone tissue, e.g. in the case of a humped or hooked nose. It is also possible for us to shorten a nose that is too long/large, to lengthen the nose, to slim it down or to compensate for depressions.

Sometimes it doesn't have to be a major nose operation and a nose tip correction is sufficient. We can use this to narrow, reduce, enlarge, straighten, lower or raise the front part of your nose. Depending on the effect to be achieved with the operation, we can remove cartilage material and also adjust the size of the nostrils. The procedure is less complex than a complete/large rhinoplasty.

The third type of rhinoplasty is nasal septum correction. In the case of a crooked septum, it can be useful not only from an optical point of view, but also for functional reasons. This is due to the fact that a crooked nasal septum often impedes free breathing and affected patients therefore often have difficulty breathing. With a Nasal septum surgery we can achieve an optical straightening of the nose and make breathing easier for you.

Surgery without complications

I had an operation on my nose performed by Dr Fischer in June 2021. My turbinates were reduced in size, the nasal septum straightened and the hump removed.

I got an appointment for an operation relatively quickly. The operation went without complications.

After 7 months, my nose has recovered well and I am very happy with the result! It looks exactly as I wanted and as I had discussed with Dr Fischer.

Competent doctor with a lot of experience

Dr Fischer performed a medically necessary nose operation with cosmetic rhinoplasty (revision) on me about 6 months ago.

I received all the consultation appointments and the surgery date very quickly.

Fascinated by the work

Dr Fischer not only has a wonderful practice and great staff, but is also a great doctor. I had an accident as a small child and therefore couldn't breathe properly and got a small "bump", which aesthetically bothered me a lot. After the plaster cast was removed, I cried because I was so fascinated by his work. Not only is he incredibly friendly/sympathetic and takes all the time in the world for his patients, but he also pays attention to many things that are often not taken into account. He looks at the proportions of the patient and doesn't have a "signature nose" that he gives everyone! Highly recommended!

Flawless

Dr Fischer is a very nice and competent doctor. After an unsuccessful correction of my nasal septum by another doctor, I went to Dr Fischer because I was having a lot of trouble breathing. You get an appointment very quickly, the reception is very friendly and helpful and the consultation was great. I had the operation and had both the nasal septum and the cosmetic correction carried out and I can only say that I couldn't be happier. The aftercare was also flawless. I haven't had a cold since the operation a year ago (previously at least 5 times a year) because I can breathe properly again and I can only rave about the appearance. It's just perfect and suits me perfectly. A big thank you to Dr Fischer and his team!

Dr Fischer has changed my life. Over 30 years ago, my nose was corrected using a method in which everything that was supposedly not needed was removed. Because of corona, I had to wait almost a year for an operation, but it was worth it. I can breathe freely through my nose again and I'm over the moon.
